Today we present the first member of the “Lausitz Art of Building” team and at the same time the #idea generator of a building research center. Manfred Curbach has been working on ecologically significantly improved alternatives to reinforced concrete for over 25 years. The resulting, highly innovative #carbonconcrete reduces #resource requirements by 50 to 80% and at the same time reduces CO2 emissions by the same amount. He was spokesman for the SFB 528 for 12 years, spokesman for the SPP “Leicht Bauen mit #Beton” for more than 6 years, has been spokesman for the BMBF -Zwanzig20-Konsortium C3 – Carbon Concrete Composite e. V. and since 2020 speaker of the SFB/TRR 280 Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) – German Research Foundation. Because of the successful implementation of carbon concrete in practice, he received the German Future Prize of the Federal President in 2016 together with Peter Offermann and Chokri Cherif. #lablausitz
